Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are
This website and the CutForge service are operated by CUTFORGE LTD, trading as CutForge, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17542928, registered office 38 Eastham Rake, Wirral, CH62 9AA ("we", "us", "our"). Contact: quotes@cutforge.co.uk.
We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on our prices.
2. These terms
These terms apply to every quote and order placed through this website. "Consumer" means an individual buying wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession; "business customer" means anyone else. Some sections apply differently to consumers, as stated. Nothing in these terms affects a consumer's statutory rights.
3. What we do
We provide online quotes for laser cutting of metal parts from a DXF drawing you supply, and quote fabrication and finishing work (bending, welding, fabrication, powder coating and similar) on request. Cutting is carried out for us by our manufacturing partner; we remain responsible to you for your order.
4. Quotes and prices
- An instant quote is calculated from the geometry of your DXF file, the material, thickness, quantity and lead time you choose, and the delivery method. Prices are in pounds sterling and include delivery where shown.
- A quote is valid for 72 hours. After that it expires and a new quote is needed.
- Some quotes need a manual check before they can be paid; we'll tell you on the quote page if so.
- Because we cannot always tell what units a drawing was made in, you must confirm that the dimensions shown on your quote match your drawing before you pay. We cut to the dimensions you confirm.
5. Placing an order
A contract is formed when your payment is confirmed. Every order is checked by a person before it is released for cutting. If we cannot fulfil an order, for example because a file cannot be reproduced accurately or a part is outside what we can cut, we will tell you and refund the full amount paid. We will not otherwise cancel a confirmed order.
6. Payment
Payment is taken in full by card through Stripe when you accept a quote. We never see or store your card details.
7. Your drawings
You are responsible for the accuracy of your drawing and for choosing a suitable material and thickness. By uploading a design you confirm that you own it or are entitled to have it made, and that making it does not infringe anyone else's rights. Business customers agree to compensate us for any claim brought against us because a design they supplied infringes a third party's rights. We use your files only to quote and produce your order, including passing them to our manufacturing partner, and for nothing else.
8. Tolerances and finish
Parts are cut to the drawing within normal laser cutting tolerances for the material and thickness. Laser cutting leaves a cut edge and may leave small tabs, marks or heat discolouration, particularly on oxygen-cut thicker steel. If a precise fit or finish is essential, tell us before you pay so we can confirm what is achievable.
9. Delivery and collection
- You can collect from our manufacturing partner's premises (address and hours are shown on your quote), or have parts delivered by courier or pallet, priced with your quote.
- Lead times and delivery times are estimates. We will tell you promptly about any delay. Consumers may cancel and receive a full refund if delivery is significantly late beyond any period we agree.
- Pallet deliveries are kerbside with a tail-lift; someone must be available to receive them.
- Responsibility for the parts passes to you when they are delivered or collected. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full.
10. Checking your parts and faults
Please check your parts as soon as you receive them. Business customers must tell us of any fault or shortage within 7 days of delivery or collection, with photos. If parts are not cut to the confirmed drawing, material or quantity, we will re-cut or refund the affected parts, at our choice for business customers. Consumers have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if goods are faulty or not as described, and those rights are not affected.
11. Cancellations
Parts are made to your own specification, so the usual 14-day right to cancel an online purchase does not apply to them. If you want to cancel before cutting starts, email quotes@cutforge.co.uk straight away and we will refund you if work has not begun.
12. Our liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- We are not responsible for errors in a drawing you supply, or for a part being unsuitable for a use you did not tell us about.
- For business customers: we are not liable for loss of profit, business or production, or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for an order is limited to the price paid for that order.
- For consumers: we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, but not for loss that was not foreseeable or for business losses.
13. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as machine breakdown at our manufacturing partner, material shortages or carrier disruption. We will tell you and, if the delay is long, offer a refund.
14. Your information
How we use personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
15. Complaints, law and courts
If something goes wrong, email quotes@cutforge.co.uk and we will try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
