Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 November 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you get a quote, place an order or contact us, why we use it, and your rights.
Who we are
The data controller is CUTFORGE LTD, trading as CutForge, registered in England and Wales, company number 17542928, registered office 38 Eastham Rake, Wirral, CH62 9AA. Contact: quotes@cutforge.co.uk.
Information we collect
- Contact details: your name and email address, any company name, billing address and purchase order number you give us, and, for delivery, your phone number and delivery address.
- Order details: the material, thickness and quantity you choose, the drawings you upload, and any photos, sketches or descriptions you send with an enquiry.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we receive confirmation of payment and refunds.
- Technical information: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) used to keep the site secure and working.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To quote, take payment, make and deliver your order, and send you emails and invoices about it: performance of a contract.
- To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation.
- To answer enquiries, prevent fraud and keep the site secure: legitimate interests.
We do not use your information for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell it.
Who we share it with
- Our manufacturing partner, who receives your drawings and job details to make the parts.
- Stripe, which processes card payments.
- Our courier and pallet comparison providers (Parcel2Go, and Easyship as a backup), which receive the delivery postcode, parcel sizes and weights to price delivery, and the delivery address and phone number when a delivery is booked.
- Fly.io, which hosts this website and its database, and Zoho, which provides our email.
Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, the United States. Where information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by the UK's approved safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK-US data bridge.
Cookies
We use one strictly necessary security cookie (cf_csrf, up to 24 hours) to protect forms from forged submissions. Staff sign-in pages set their own session cookies. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to accept or decline.
How long we keep it
Quotes that are never paid are kept so you can come back to them, reviewed at least once a year, and deleted sooner if you ask. Orders, invoices and their drawings are kept for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK tax law requires. Encrypted backups are kept for up to 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or transfer it to you. Email quotes@cutforge.co.uk; we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
